HOLY CONVOCATION 2020
THEME: WEALTH CREATION FOR KINGDOM PURPOSE
But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)
The Cause for Our Gathering
God established a covenant with Abraham in Genesis 22 to bless him, multiply him, and transform the world for the better through his descendants. This promise came as a result of Abraham exhibiting great faith in the will and plan of Yahweh by not withholding his son, Isaac, when he was asked to present him before the Lord as a sacrifice. From Abraham’s complete willingness to obey the Lord, no matter the cost, God demonstrated before all of heaven that Abraham had the character needed to be entrusted with a mantle of great blessings – not for his own gain, but for the benefit of those around him.
This is why our Heavenly Father said of Abraham:
…By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Genesis 22: 16 -18 (KJV)
This is one of the covenants referred to in Deuteronomy 8:18. While Deuteronomy is a part of the Law which generally is meant to apply to the people of Israel, this is one covenant that believers today can claim as their own. From New Testament doctrine, we know that we are Abraham’s heirs through our belief in Jesus Christ.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith…
And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 3:13-14, 29 (KJV)
Note how the book Galatians ties the blessing of Abraham with the promise of the Spirit. God covenanted to bless Abraham so that he in turn could be a blessing to the entire world through his seed. As Abraham’s spiritual seed through Jesus Christ, we receive the power of God to create the wealth needed to solve the world’s most dire crises. But we are only able to do this by the Holy Spirit. Wealth without the Holy Spirit’s direction about how to use it results in greed. God does not add increase to our finances so that we can lavish ourselves with big houses, fancy cars, or whatever else money can buy. We receive increase so that we can be the hands and feet of our Lord extended to those in need. We are to be to our generation what Job was to his, so that people in hopeless situations rejoice when they see us, knowing that we are coming to provide for them financially. Job 29:12-13 & James 1:27.
Poverty is a work of the devil. We know that satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. John 10:10. But Christ was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8. And our Savior gave us power of all manner of satan’s treachery. Luke 10:19. So we have the power to destroy poverty, both by the authority of Jesus’ name and through the Abrahamic covenant. We do not fall into fear as the rest of the world does because of the threat of economic collapse. We conquer lack and financial regression despite what is happening in the local and world economy. In doing so, we demonstrate the power of the LORD GOD and point people back to the cross of Jesus, so that they will come to appreciate His Lordship and receive the peace and salvation only He can give.
This year, those ministering at Holy Convocation will examine these issues in more detail and lay out practical, step-by-step guidance for Christocrats to follow as we gain a fuller understanding of the role we ought to play in these last days. Here’s how you can participate:
